Well hello! Seth Ciasulli here, though most of my friends and family have always called me Spark. Nice to meet you. This is the first video like this that I've ever created, so be easy on me. I have put out a lot of video content in the past, but it was mostly through streaming and therefore the focus was not on me, but on the game-play. I figured it was time to start creating real video content to put out there on the internet.
If you're watching this video or reading my 'blog', you're probably wondering, what's the point of all of this? Honestly, I'm not always going to be 100% sure what I want to do here on the internet. I am partnered and therefore verified on Twitch, which means I have spent a fair amount of time streaming and creating some form of a fan base on that website, but I'd like to branch off into uncharted territory. I want to create more of a presence online. Unfortunately, I've found that if all you've ever done is stream, when you stop streaming, you start to become irrelevant. That doesn't sit well with me because of my IRL job, which forces me to be away weekends at a time. I've always felt like I was constantly playing catch-up. I'd stream for a solid week or two and create a good following, then I'd have to go away for work for 4 or 5 days and I'd lose a good portion of my audience. Despite that I was able to create something, but it always felt so fleeting. So that leads me to thinking, there must be more that I can do to create more permanence.
My goal is to attack this on many different fronts. First, through my business. I'm the owner and head coach over at the Red Hawk Wrestling Club here in Bethlehem, PA, and I want to start putting out video content which I'll describe more in depth over on that channel. I'll put the link of Red Hawk's YouTube page in the description in case you want to go check that out. Briefly, I want to detail different talks that I have with my kids, you can call it mindset training. I also want to offer a service where I critique wrestling matches and then post that content online. Finally, I want to produce technique videos that I put out there for free. I feel like Red Hawk's done a great job in our immediate area, but there's much more I can do with the actual brand, and I look forward to exploring those options.
Otherwise I have personal a website that I'll be continuing to work on, chock full of cool features like a user system, profiles, etc. I will work to develop community features centered around creating various forms of content that will help each section of the website. For example, in the music section, filling out lyrics for songs. I have contacted LyricFind to see about licensing lyrics again. Years ago I owned a website centered around that idea. I'm not sure if I'll follow through with it, depends on the pricing, but it might be a good way to help out the music section of the site. I could also do song reviews. That's the kind of content I'm talking about. Different sections will highlight different forms of media, and I can allow the posting of reviews through them. I could turn those sections into blogs of my own using and write articles based on different topics within those categories. I do like the idea of making fun of movies. "Spoilers With Spark" has always been something I've thought about doing. This would be where I spoil movies or episodes of shows, but in a funny way. I've made those kind of videos in the past. Although time consuming, they were very fun to work on. Maybe the more I work on them, the more I'll be able to streamline that process. I think having an audience basically means there's a lot of people that care about your opinion. People won't care about your opinion unless you speak it.
I'm also into web development and graphic design. I have section on my site that will be dedicated to creating tutorials on these topics, or maybe just displaying something I found interesting. Tutorials may come about by me stumbling across a problem and describing the solution that I found while searching for the answer. If it's something unique that I wanted to accomplish that took a while to figure out, maybe other people had the same problem and could use that information as well. I'd also like to open up my web design services should someone want me to design their website. It's been a while since I did this, but I am getting the itch again.
I've also thought about writing lifestyle articles. This would be more of a general blog, where I attempt to give advice. While thinking about this, I've come to realize that it would probably be advice that I wish I could take for myself. So in a way, I'd mostly be talking to myself and trying to improve my own life or mental health. I guess this would be more of a 'vlog', which would be fun to start. There is a lot of advice I give to the wrestlers that I coach that I feel could translate very well to life in general. I feel like for a very long time I've struggled with some slight nihilism, and I would like to get away from that and find some real meaning or purpose. I think that's what's really driving me to not only put out content, but content that will mean something to me.
So what's the main goal? I'd like to positively affect people in a real way. This could be by creating joy in what I have to say about various topics, or by improving the way people look at life in general. There's a lot of unnecessary hate, stress, frustration, and intolerance. Although necessary at times, those feelings are largely uncomfortable, especially when they're directed where they don't need to be.
As you can see, I'm a mess with what I want to actually do with my free time here on the internet. I'm plagued by indecision at times, so it may be best to choose things as they come, complete the project, and swiftly move on to the next. The older I get the more I believe that I have a responsibility to put myself out there on the internet. Think of it this way, we are the first generation that has the internet and the ability to post whatever we want. And largely, the things that we do post will last forever as long as they don't delete our content. What this means to me, is that we can basically become immortal, way more than any generation before us. Wouldn't it be cool for your grand children to look you up on YouTube to see what you were like in your early 30's? Or even, wouldn't it be cool for your great-great-great-great grand children to do the same? This is really what I want to accomplish. I want people in the future to know who I was. I'm what you call a deep thinker, a philosophizer of sorts.
Okay, enough with the deep thoughts. I think this is good for now. This should at least give you a guideline of the types of content I want to produce in the future. Enough with talking about doing, it's time to start doing. Until then, I hope you're having a wonderful day. Late!
